One of my favourite places to walk come rain or shine. It has the most spectacular views of the city, Fife coast down to Berwick Law. We've celebrated Hogmany at the top with champagne whilst the fire works go off around us (in the snow and rain)! It's especially beautiful to see the fireworks at Edinburgh Castle at the end... We had a great walk round this golf course while staying at the excellent Mortonhall Camping Site. Fantastic views over to Edinburgh, Arthur's Seat and the coast. Even saw helicopters landing close up to take guests to the Ryder Cup from the golf range beside the golf course. Lots of lovely brambles to eat on the way round too!

You can see so much of Edinburgh from there...the Castle, the Forth, the Bridges, Blackford Hill, the airport and much further afield. And as night comes down you can enjoy watching the lights as far away as Fife and... More

If you travel to Edinburgh with your dog(s) and you don't go to Braid Hills then you have missed something most marvellous. It is a 15-minute bus ride from the city centre (11 15 16 or check with Lothian Buses). There are 2 golf courses which offer great heathland rambles and have magnificent city / castle / Arthur's Seat views;... More
