The Gallery is split up into many different sections and there is plenty of sculpture's and paintings to view. Take you time and also a few photo's to remind yourself of your day in the city.

This was a very nice museum, they have a few masterpieces by Van Gogh, Da Vinci and Monet. Not as big as the Louvre or the Vatican Museum, you can view pretty much everything in a couple of hours.

The museum is quite nice. It's on the smaller side, but the art displayed encompasses different styles and periods, without seeming like you only seeing what they were able to acquire. The Caravaggio exhibit was extremely good.

For anyone interested in fine art, this is the place to go. You will be dazzled by the beauty of the buildings themselves and the interior rooms. The artwork itself is astounding, as it includes a da Vinci, Van Gogh, Gaugin, Monet, several Rembrandts, and...More

We didn't have much expectations and were pleasantly surprised to see so many very high quality masterpieces by Rembrand, El Greco, Da Vinci, and Van Gogh.

I love traveling Europe and seeing the artwork of the once famous. This one had all the usual suspects (van gogh, raphael, monet, Di Vinci) and all for FREE.

The collection is quite ecclectic and has a few lovely suprises including the original "Monarch in the Glen", the stag that is one of the emblems of Scotland. There is a nice restaurant that also has outdoor seating. Princess Street gardens surround the gallery.

I was astounded by the number of famous artists collected in this free gallery (they accept donations). Not overly large, we moved slowly through it nonetheless because of the density of treasures. Not to be missed. The cafe is very comfortable and the food excellent...More

Quite interesting selection of paintings.Though it cannot compete with other famous international galleries, it does offer a respectable range of paintings. The building and the settting, with the glass roof above and the natural light coming in, were adding to the experience. Entrance is free,...More

As it rained one of the days we were in Edinburgh, we wanted a way to get out of the rain but still get some sightseeing in. So, we stopped in here. Admission is free, and there's so much to see. We particularly enjoyed the...More

Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street
is only half one, since buildings only line one side.
But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views
are from Princes Street as a result. From here you
look onto expansive and decorative public gardens
beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s
Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old
town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look
