The Edinburgh Parliament building offers a free visit to the interiors of the Parliament. From the outside the building structure is non conventional with each block shaped as tree leaves (clearly visible form Arthur's seat). Some architects might find the structure to be a bit...More

Booked on line a few weeks before our visit. Very interesting building and modern, but fits in with the older buildings that surround it. Tour guide excellent and was a fount of knowledge. Such an intense visit learnt a lot about the Scottish Parliament and...More

I was recommended by my friend (who works in Politics) to go take a tour and I am so glad I did! It was by far my favourite experience in Edinburgh. The design of the building is one of the most interesting that I have...More

Having seen the building on TV it was interesting to actually visit. Most people would have a definite opinion on the building designed by a Catalan architect. We were allowed into the debating chamber during a debate and the chamber is pretty amazing. It was...More

We had a very good tour guide for this. She explained the meaning behind the unique structure of this building. While Parliament was not in session, she explained their structure and procedures very well.

We reserved a tour online a few weeks before our trip. I would highly suggest this, as they book up early. Unfortunately, there was a terror event in England shortly before our visit. The security was tightened & we did not have a tour. But,...More

What a different building, from what locals have told me it was a hot button issue when it was built. It was neat to learn what a devolved parliament does and how it works. Would have enjoyed it more if I could have watched them...More

Look. Let's not get in to any political debate here.... no buts dear reader. Over budget and the outside looks a tad strange, but go through the tight security and you can't help by being impressed. The ten minute chat about the SP was excellent....More

Let me start by saying that in every country I go to I try to do a tour of their parliament or equivalent. Yes I am a bit of a politics / styles of democracy geek. This tour was excellent in a number of ways:...More

Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around
university buildings in Southside, the sort of
neighbourhood that supports a long string of
second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for
just a few pounds. In August the student population is
replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here
for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and
arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking
