There are shops to cover everyone's needs and many bars in the streets off Princess Street providing outside seating if you want to create your own atmosphere outside the bars. The bars open late and there is whisky galore!!

Princess Street used to be elegant and a must see in Edinburgh, great views and grandeur but it is very ordinary now, the shops are lower quality, ruined by trams and traffic,

Easy to find familiar shops with teen interested in shopping. Plus some stay open very late which fills in part of the evening if shopping is enjoyed. The number of street people is dire straits distressing though.
