I just love Edinburgh. The locals were friendly. It can be a bit crowded, but, I managed with ease. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

On Princes street you can find all of the high street stores. It is very busy and its the main shopping street in Edinburgh. There are views of Edinburgh Castle from Princes street.

Busy, definitely packed with tourists, but it's hard to beat the main thoroughfare that walks through a sort-of-downtown with sweeping views of the Castle and other such vital Edinburgh landmarks.

Excellent for shopping, plenty of places to eat and drink and plenty of historical monuments and statues. Really is something for everyone whatever their age or interests

Princes Street is Edinburgh's equivalent of London's Oxford St. All the main major brands of here, with the likes of H&M, Zara, Topshop/Topman, Primark and so on....

Great surroundings and view of Edinburgh Castle, everyone must walk once on this street if visiting the capital. The buildings are pretty mixed, but you can shop 'till you drop..

Not just a good area for shopping but so much more to do. Beautiful princes street gardens across from the shops, views of the castle and stunning architecture to take in.

The gardens and castle on the south side are wonderful. The shopping side is a pretty ugly mix match of buildings, phone shops and tartan tat.

Our hotel was nearby, so we walked Princes street to get to Waverly Station and just for shopping and restaurants. The number of shops and department stores makes it a mecca for shoppers, and tourists love the many souvenir shops that have a huge selection...More

We didn't plan on visiting this part of town but I am glad we did. There was a Christmas market taking place when we can here in November. It is definitely a more modern part of town.

Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street

But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views
