We would well recommend this tour for anybody who loves and follows the Royal family. We found it really interesting and informative. Its a shame for the Royal family they longer have use of this lovely yacht but the plus is we get to see it!!! The yacht itself is really well maintained and a credit to the management company.... This is an excellent day out. The free audio guide is really interesting and very informative. You can really understand why the royal family enjoyed travelling on the yacht so much, informal for them although not so for the crew! Bedrooms are fascinating too - single beds for the Queen and Duke so that sheets from Queen Victoria's day could... More

Prebooked our tickets online in advance which meant we didn't have to join the queue. Met by very friendly staff before boarding who explained the visit and then issued audio equipment which was great to use at your own pace. Not too busy which enabled us to have a good two hours visit. By the way we walked to the... More

This is a fascinating and enjoyable look at a piece of Royal History - also very touching seeing the family photographs and mementos. It is also an excellent study of how it all worked - crew quarters through the ranks, private family quarters, entertaining, dining. It takes a while to walk round and each exhibit is accompanied by a very... More

Of all the touristy attractions in Edinburgh this in my opinion beats them all. On a busy weekend trip we decided this was on our to do list, not too far from the centre of Edinburgh, we got a taxi cost approx £7.00. We got there for opening at 10am and were first on board. This is a well organised... More

This was surprisingly a very personal insight into our majesty's retreat x The loving pictures that don the walls of the royal family are beautiful to see x They show you the granduar of what was once a supreme yacht ! But most of all the beauty of it all ! Well worth a visit the bonus was sitting in... More

A wonderful visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia during our weekend break to Edinburgh. We picked up a map from our hotel so we were very lucky to have 10% off. The entrance fee is no more pricey than some other attractions in other capital cities, it is worth every penny if you are interested in the monarchy or engineering.... More

Thank you for visiting Britannia. It’s great to learn that you had a wonderful time on board. For the information of others, admission to Britannia is less than other top Edinburgh attractions and includes a complimentary audio guide as well as an Annual Pass which allows each visitor to return, free of charge, for a year. As you mention, we... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our family visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia. An iconic piece of Royal history so beautifully preserved and presented. You can wonder at your leisure around the yacht, with a very well signed/numbered route. Your tour is enhanced with audio commentary through hand held devices given to you as you start the tour. There is a separate... More
