We offer 2 types of tours: 1) Walking tours (1-2hrs) in the centre of Edinburgh in the footsteps of Covenanters, reformers and history-makers, delivered by a guide dressed as a medieval monk. This includes exclusive sites only available with SoS Tours. 2) Day bus tours to some of the hidden gems in the outskirts and surrounding area of Midlothian: castles and mysterious places full of adventure.

It was very enlightening to be in the places where our ancestors faith had been tested; it makes me wonder if I could have been as brave. Just to be able to sit in the Magdalen Chapel was a humbling experience.

Excellent, informative tour with visits to some key sites. Guide very knowledgeable. We did the Celtic Tour. Somewhat of a misnomer as there was just a bit about that at the beginning and lots on Reformation, Presbyterianism, Covenanters, Enightenment etc. Soul of Scotland Tours is...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
