My daughter and I just returned from the one day trip to the Highlands and it was excellent! Jamie was our driver and tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, helpful, witty, and informative. We had several stops along the way and each time Jamie willingly took photos of all groups. I can't say enough about how much we enojoyed our... More

Amazing tour, our guide Iain was terrific, so knowledgeable about everything we saw and provided commentary the entire way, his story telling and history was second to none. The scenery was spectacular and the busses very comfortable with regular stops to stretch the legs and get some fresh air. I would highly recommend tour with Highland, we did the one... More

Our guide James was a great storyteller. History is half the experience and he really gave life to the beautiful landscape. Thank you James! The highlands are beautiful and definitely a must-see. However, Loch Ness was a bit overrated as an experience. That is not the fault of the company - but as Danes (and used to water) we found... More

We took Loch Ness, Glen Coe & Highlands tour. It is the best tour to see highlands of Scotland in 1 day + opportunity to see monster Ness. Amazing views & great driver/guide John.

My friend and I went on the Elian West Highland 2 day tour. The coach turned up on time. The driver was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and made us feel extremely comfortable. On the way up we also stopped at several places of interest for photo breaks, and for lunch. The driver Eddie, had a great knowledge of the history... More

Me and my husband had a wonderful time yesterday on the 12h trip to the Highlands. The nature and the breathtaking views left us speechless, but the best was the driver/guide Branden, his storytelling capacity, his jokes and simpathy were realy great. I already recommended this trip, and will recommend again. It was wonderfull, we'll be back, now on the... More

This is was a remarkable tour and i think we covered most of the places in Scotland. The tour itinerary was packed and tour guide, Brendon was talented. Both resulted in an amazing experience. A typical long day looked comfortable.

We booked a tour to Loch Ness for one day and then went to Oban the next day. I've never spend this many hours on the bus but if you want to see the whole of Scotland in couple days, I definitely recommend this. I would love to thank Owen for being an amazing guide and sharing lots of stories... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
