What a lovely little find. A great use of an abandoned quarry, this nature reserve has been created and is maintained by volunteers. It has a couple of small ponds, marshland and a path around all of it. There are several beautifully-maintained blinds positioned right on the water to sit and observe the birds. The path was flat and suitable... More

Found this reserve yesterday, very small, well looked after reserve, walked right around within 30 minutes, bird hides were good to watch the cormorants from.

For all the times have visited Moffat have never visited the reserve. It is signposted on the road into the town off the M74 but we came upon it walking the Annandale Way. Great walks and lots of places to sit for picnics. A lot of thought has been put into its planning and children especially should find it interesting.
