The museum is small but perfectly laid out for a short visit. There are all sorts of displays with different editions of Burns's poems, and great care has been taken to make it accessible to visitors who know and love Burns and those who are new to his life and writing. The museum hasn't been curated with a heavy hand,... More

The collection in the reception/ticket room alone is one of the best of Burns items I have seen, and then you have the other furnished rooms.

This is a good starting place in Dumfries to learn about Robert Burns. The guides were very good with lots of interesting information and insights into the life of Burns. Ask to see the pane of glass where Burns scratched his name. A place full of memorabilia and well worth the visit.

A great look into the life of Burns, lots of interesting reads and memorabilia. Also to see the pane of glass he scratched his name onto still their after all this time was amazing, staff were very helpful, free entry, although they do have a donation box, it is worth putting your hand in your pocket, well deserved.

We called into the house after visiting Burns' Mausoleum. The staff present were very knowledgeable and friendly. They really made the visit worthwhile and what could have been dry and dusty became very exciting.

To see Burns' modest and unpretentious house gives you a feeling of how he really was, but he was busy in his final years, an upstanding member of the community!
