Waste of time and money for families with children or not so skilled riders. The Blue and Green tracks are closed but unfortunately you can't read the signs from car when approaching. Therefore you may get all family's bikes ready when noticing it (we were not the only family having the same problem). Quite a few signs are misleading as... More

Had the pleasure of recently walking through Mabie forest on a trip to Dumfries. We chose the longest brown circular route and wasn't disappointed. Strenuous at times but in all a lovely 5 1/2 mile walk. Our dog loved it and we didn't see another sole on route apart from a lone mountain biker. Great place for kids too.

I have visited these trails many times and still enjoy them so much. The trails are very well thought out and direction markings regular. The red route has a really good mix of riding with some black options. Well worth a visit.

I ride the mountain bike trails at Mabie regularly, throughout the year. I rarely see other riders these days, partly because the most challenging route, the Dark Side, has not been maintained and is no longer accessible. But the other trails are great - I love the feeling of open space. NB part of the Blue Route is being resurfaced... More

What an amazing country park. Absolutely stunning scenery, well maintained and very reasonable parking charges. Did a 3 mile walk with a toddler, very easy footpaths.

The 7 Stanes website advertises that they hire bikes, their literature advertises that they hire out bikes. But after we had driven especially to hire bikes for a family day out and to enjoy the Mabie mountain bike trail, we found that the BIKE HIRE HASN'T BEEN OPEN FOR 2 YEARS. Paid £3 parking for the privilege to find that... More

Lovely spot away from the crowds. good news from the top and nice rides in the woods or runs. You won't meet many others here which is nice. Small farm shop at the bottom open in the summer and bike hire venue

We went thinking it was 7 Stanes as in standing stones but it was a mountain bike train, and the signposts were not good, we were on the wrong track and in the way of the down hill cyclists which was dangerous for them and for us, I had to dodge out of their way and I fell hurting my... More
