Cute cinema
Aug 2019
They don't have a lot of different films, but it's a very cosy cinema.
The staff was very nice and helpful.

Shelter in a rainy day
Feb 2020 • Couples
Booked during a weekend visit to avoid a blustery and wet day. Friendly welcome and comfortable seating guaranteed a pleasant couple of hours.

Great Little Cinema
Jan 2020
We visited the cinema on a rainy Oban afternoon and saw a film called Little Women. I believe the cinema is a community project and is staffed by volunteers. Prices were reasonable, the seats were comfortable, it was warm, the screen was big enough and the sound was good. We would definitely return

one of the best
Nov 2019
One of my favourite cinemas. A visit to Oban is never complete without coming here. The films are pretty up-to-date so don't understand that criticism. We have watched live events (Miss Saigon), chamber pieces (The Death of Stalin with one other person in the small cinema), and stunning vent cinema like Arrival. It's fairly cheap - the GFT springs to mind as a comparable venue and it's a lot pricier - and although the seats don't recline, it's comfortable enough. A good place to wait out the occasional autumnal rain. Highly recommended.

Margaret Atwood
Sep 2019
We discovered, by chance, that the Phoenix was one of a number of cinemas in Britain that was showing Margaret Atwood's live appearance at the National Theatre in London so of course, we went. It is a nice little cinema.

Cute wee cinema
Aug 2019
The cinema is very small and doesn't show a lot of new movies, but it is very clean and very cosy. I liked coming for a movie, as it felt like a private home cinema. The lady behind the counter was very lovely and welcoming.

Always a delight to come here
Aug 2019
Although a 45 min drive from where we stay, we combined a shopping trip with an afternoon cinema trip today. Lovely to see the new improvements since our last visit.
Always like coming here, seats are so comfy, it's never too crowded, staff are friendly and helpful.
The cinema is staffed by wonderful volunteers and, although improvements are still ongoing through public funding, the cinema is always friendly, welcoming and shows good films in comfortable surroundings.

A gem
May 2019 • Family
This community run cinema is an absolute gem. It is delightfully lo-fi with 2 screens that, importantly, both feature excellent screens and sound.

They have big plans to continue the redevelopment and renovation so get along and support them by buying tickets and plenty of popcorn.

They have a great choice of films - all the blockbusters and a decent array of ‘art house’ content (and the likes of NT and RSC Live also).

A great experience and wouldn’t hesitate to go back if in the area again.

Well done team!
Apr 2019 • Family
I have had quite a lot to say about this place in the past when it was being steered off a cliff by one women’s greed
But now....
Went to Avengers end game on Sat 27th April
And received a terrific service from Marco and the team
The new lad (don’t know his name) tall blonde hair was exceptional and reminded me of some of the best people I have met service and retail experiences!
The place is well and truly back on track and deserves its success, the staff have been though the mill and have clearly worked really hard to let this Phoenix rise again !

Community run cinema
Feb 2019 • Friends
This is a small cinema run mainly by volunteers. There is one large screen showing the latest films, whilst there is a small 36 seater theatre for other screenings.
