This puzzle is clearly visible on the skyline of Oban. As usual, the history is interesting, and the views are not to be missed.

It is probably just as well that it is difficult to find because the road to it, up narrow streets with hairpin bends through the new and old houses that make up the town, is hazardous and steep, with barely any decent paring when you...More

This tower is located on a hill in Oban, clearly visible from below. It is quite a climb to get there, there is free parking at the foot of it. The walk is strenuous but takes you through a lovely part of Oban with nice...More

Take a quick walk or drive up the steep hill from Oban harbour to McCaig's tower. It's under a mile and you'll be rewarded with fantastic views from Oban town to the Isle of Mull and Lismore. Parking is available at the tower.

Great views on a summer evening and free! Good place for a picnic, easily to get to by car, plenty of space to park

We took a cheap taxi up to the Tower. We enjoyed the stroll around the tower, particularly the views.

Wonderful views and well worth a visit. If you are not very mobile get a taxi up. It only cost us £3.60.

Walked up the hill after a wee whiskey tasting. Weather was very typically Scottish but nice views of the harbour. It's a nice spot to chill and enjoy seeing the world roll past.
