As a return visitor, I was really disappointed. There is a feeling of neglect with many areas dirty, tank glass including the otter and seal so dirty you are unable to see them, the path outside the visitor centre covered in clumps of moss from the roof/ gutter. The new area which houses the turtles and Parana’s is a good... More

The last time we came was in mid summer, and the sanctuary was very busy. The week before Christmas was perhaps not everyone's choice for a "fun-filled" visit, as much of the attraction of the sanctuary lies in the relationship between the work of the centre and its surroundings. However, this is not the sort of "attraction" that can just... More

Not really worth the money, granted we were there out of season but there's not a lot to see, many tanks were empty, the whole place looks a bit shabby and tired. We were there with a toddler and bought tickets online at a discounted rate but still not worth what we paid. The cafe was closed there were no... More

Hi, Apologies you were disappointed with your visit to the Sanctuary. At present our coffee shop is closed as we are in off-peak season. However our gift shop is selling hot and cold drinks and cakes/confectionary. It's disappointing you felt there was not a lot to see as we still have a full programme of talks and feeds, interactive touchpool... More

Before you enter the building there are some nice woodland walks and somewhere for children to play but then be amazed as you wander around the aquariums with some strange and beautiful fish and sea creatures. The seals and otters are so appealing and the staff do a fantastic job with the care and preservation of these creatures.A really nice experience... Lots of interesting things to see, the touch pool experience and involving the kids in feeding the seals really got their interest. A good family day out.

As the title says it was a good couple of hours out. The ticket was valid for a week which was great and meant we could of gone back. The seal feeding was great to watch, such clever animals doing tricks for fish and obviously looked after well. Also very funny watching the seagulls sneakily nick the fish from the... More

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to review The Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary. It's great that you enjoyed your visit and watching our seal feeding demonstration. Recently visited with family. We had decided to visit as we had been given vouchers which gave us entry for just £6 per person! Thought this was great with it being close to Christmas. I went to use the vouchers however there was confusion as the lady had not seen these vouchers nor were they on the till. The lady... More

We booked our tickets online, well worth doing as it saves quite a few £'s. We got there as it opened and had a look round before the talks started. The place is quite small, but there are places for children to play. The lady who told us about the otter and the seals was amazing she certainly knew her... More

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to review our Sanctuary, it's great that you enjoyed your visits and the talks about our otter and seals. Our seals are housed across to interconnecting pools, which they are free to move between at all times. Please rest assured we would never keep any creature in an enclosure that was too small for...
