Day trip to Craignure on Mull to visit the castle, which is the ancestral home of the MacLeans. The exhibits in the castle are enough to keep you interested for far longer than one visit, especiallyif you have some MacLean blood in your make up.

Took the car over to Mull for the day on the Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry. Excellent ferry company, great service, very professional and helpful staff. Been on their ferrys before and never been disappointed. Very smooth crossing too.

We travelled from Kennacraig to Oban (6 hours) like a cruise, as I stupidly thought. Apparently no one in their right mind would attempt this as it became quite complicated. The web site is totally useless to book anything beyond one trip despite their 'Hopscotch'...More

A great variety of daily trips from Oban to various islands. Would recommend the Mull and Iona trip, and also the day trip to Tiree (only goes on one day per week)

It would be tight but not impossible. Important would be the arrival time of Glasgow bus into Oban, of course.

Yes - advance booking guarantees your place, especially at peak times. If not, you would be placed in a queue for unreserved drivers on arrival, and possibly face a delayed crossing on busy days. Even if you book online... More
