An attractive museum
Jun 2019
At Oban War & Peace Museum I learned about the peaceful history of this beautiful port, but and about its life in the World War II, when here it was an important naval and air military base.

Small but interesting

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Some children arrived to find information for a school project and the staff were really good with them. Helping when necessary but not taking over. We all learned from the experience. Video was informative and just the right length of running time. We were allowed to take photographs for our VE party and picked up a few tips for food and costumes

Biggest Flying Boat in Captivity
Nov 2019
How I wish I could have stayed longer! A fantastic collection of wartime memorabilia and historical Oban artefacts. I learned a lot in a swift 30 minute visit (Truncated by having to meet family and friends elsewhere) Hanging from the ceiling is a superbly executed giant sized model of a WW11 Flying Boat! Admission is free and there are quizz competitions for kids. I have to go back sometime!
