King's Museum lies at the heart of the University's Old Aberdeen campus. As well as being Scotland's newest museum, it may also be the oldest as its origins lie in a museum collection established in King's College in 1727.

King's Museum has exhibitions changing every few months to display these collections, some involving students and academic staff collaborating with the museum to bring recent research to a wider audience. With evening lectures and other events, such as the annual 'Night at the Museum', the museum is a place where objects and ideas are explored in ways that would have been inconceivable to those who have collected and curated the collection over the past centuries.

The museum is a friendly place, where passers-by, students, staff and tourists can drop in for a break; a place of stimulation and reflection in the middle of the busy campus.

Just walked 2 miles to see The Art and Science of Light exhibition to find two small rooms containing an almost random set of objects very loosely connected to the title. Thought it was the entrance lobby only to find that was it! Not worth a visit.

Situated in the Old Town House, the Kings museum has two small downstairs rooms displaying artefacts discovered locally in Aberdeenshire. Worth a look if you're passing, but only make a special journey if you're seriously interested in local history. However there is a changing exhibition, so next month could well be a different display.

Stumbled into Old Town House by accident but pleased we did. The Guide gave us all his attention and a graphic account of what went on in the area in years past.

As an Aberdonian, though long away from the city, it shames me to admit I've never been into this building before. In fact, I don't even remember seeing this building before! We had a lovely time here though, seeing an exhibition of Eric Auld's paintings and having a long chat to a very interesting gentleman (David Robertson?? , my poor... More

This is an historic building in the centre of Old Aberdeen but not really much to see in it.
