Michael is thoroughly deserving of all the positive reviews. I had a solo political tour with Michael that covered everything I'd said I was interested in and much more, learning a huge amount about Derry and Northern Ireland's past, present and future. Derry is a picturesque city that reminded me of my hometown of York, and you can't beat seeing... More

I used to live in NI, so I know it pretty well, but on this trip I was accompanied by 130 people from a US university - undergrads, post-grads, family, friends and faculty. Keeping them interested was a challenge as their knowledge base was diverse. But Michael Cooper did so. His knowledge and passion are second to none. We all... More

This is my third visit to Northern Ireland within the past 3 years and my third time working with Michael Cooper. I recommend Michael whole heartedly for his expertise and enthusiasm for everything Irish. Michael can take you to those out of the way places which make any trip extra special. Highlights for me were the visits to the grave... More

Michael Cooper was the best! His knowledge and experience made the trip rich. He knew his tour participants and provided special information to meet their interests. He was able to bring in resource people to talk about different points of view related to the Troubles. He shared his own convictions, but made ideas from across the spectrum available to the... Michael Cooper was our guide for a week in Northern Ireland, where I was part of a 10-person tour organized by the New York Times. The tour was billed as an exploration of the conflicts/troubles leading to the Peace Process. I'd read a lot before embarking upon this journey, but being there in Derry and Belfast and hearing first hand... More

My boyfriend and I were in a pinch looking for a tour of the Inishowen Peninsula with only a week left before our arrival in Ireland, and I was referred by another local guide to Michael Cooper, who made himself available to us for a wonderful half-day tour. He was incredibly accommodating by picking us up in Letterkenny (after being... More

My sister and I had a half-day tour with Michael and enjoyed his company enormously. He was pleasant as well as informative. Although I had learned quite a bit about the local history having lived there for almost a year, Michael was able to add to what I knew with his extensive knowledge of history and politics.
