Super Sunday stroll

Come here often on the weekend, nice coffee shop and it's often nice enough to sit outside and have a snack after a walk around the wonderful walled garden.

I would recommend this place if you fancy a day with nature, when you arrive, you will be greeted by very welcoming staff ( and that's just when you pay in ) the grounds at rowallane gardens are lovely and consist of formal garden, lake and woodland walks, that will impress you. It is not to big, but we found... More

I bring the dog here for a walk as often as I can. I absolutely love the gardens here. Very very peaceful and calming.

Very disappointed .When I went to pay my entrance fee the girl asked me for £5.80 and when I challenged this she said it was an added gift cost. I think the ordinary price was £5.25.....I would have paid the extra if she had explained the different entrance fees when I first asked.!!! The grounds were very nice but there... More

Friendly welcome and helpful map. Service in the cafe was also very friendly. The walks are all a bit different, adding variety. Beautiful grounds and a peaceful experience.

I am a fan of the gardens and a regular visitor as a NT member. A great venue whether it is for a leisurely walk around the grounds or a quiet coffee in the cafe. Very dog friendly with a separate enclosed field allowing free exercise. Other NT venues should follow this lead!! Friendly and helpful staff and quite often... More

The perfect place for a wee walk on a nice day. Enough space for dogs and kids to run about. Coffee and snacks are available at the main building.

We recently became National Trust members and have visited Rowallane on a few occasions now. If I'm honest it was quite underwhelming. If we weren't NT members I wouldn't pay the almost £6 entry fee as I don't feel it was worth it. Didn't try the coffee shop so I can't comment on that.

Three of us visited the garden in August. It was pricey for what you got - at this time of year, the flowering shrubs have all died down, and the gardens looked shabby and shaggy, no interesting blooms. The coffee shop - prices were so high that we opted for an ice lolly instead. £2.75 for an eighth of a... More
