The ruins are photogenic. It is on the edge of a river and pleasant place to stroll. Seems busy with Game of Throne fans. Hope you don't arrive the same time as a bus tour.

Such a beautiful place and much more to it than I had thought. There was a Game of Thrones tour bus just leaving, fur capes and swords galore! Very interesting, plenty of info boards. Well worth a visit.

I wonder what 'normal' tourists think when a bunch of Game of Thrones fans like us arrive at Inch Abbey, get dressed up in capes and start sword fighting and parading with banners. What a lovely setting for some good photos (even if we were...More

It was beautiful and peaceful. Not very many people there so was really nice to see it without crowds. One of those out of the way treasures.

Great place to take the dogs for a walk in an atmospheric and peaceful spot. There are excellent views across the Quoile basin and plenty of wildlife to see. Very well kept secret location - never gets too busy.

We pulled up and were absolutely alone. This is a free activity where you can walk around the Abbey and grounds. The GOT used this location for the first season.

My wife and I visited Inch Abbey to stage our wedding photos amongst the ruins. The grounds are well maintained, with informative panels dotted around the site giving the history of the abbey and monks, and the history of the site. Access to the site...More

I went because it was a Game of Thrones filming location but it's quite pretty if a bit small. There are a couple of signs on what the abbey was about and its architecture. It would make a good place for a picnic. Free.

If you follow the signpost down the little road, there is a carpark at the graveyard just beside the abbey
