I attended a guided tour as part of a group of eight people on a Saturday morning. We all had an amazing experience with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, David Scott. I learned more about my history in the first ten minutes than I ever did in school. The artifacts were incredible and the whole tour was a really enjoyable and educational experience. Our party was made up of young and older people and we all thought the same.
David made it a very warm and personal experience and I would really encourage anyone who has never visited The Museum of Orange Heritage to get in touch to arrange a tour of their own. The shop was very good with a wide range of affordable gifts and souvenirs.
We finished off with tea, coffee and sandwiches from the Cafe at the Museum which were excellent. All in all a wonderful day out at a very affordable price.Well done everyone concerned.

Being from an orange background, we took the chance to visit here whilst we were in Belfast. Really easy to get to, the 6a bus from Donegal Square in town centre, took about 15 mins. Staff were lovely and helpful, and admission is free!
Lots to see and read, just wish we had a little longer but anyone interested in the orange culture would love this. Cafe is good too!

We undertook this tour as part of a University student field trip focused on Northern Ireland and the 'Troubles'. We were keen to ensure we received an insight into perspectives drawn from all sides and that is what we got. This Museum is well worth a visit. The displays were clearly laid out and covered the range of history associated with Orange Heritage. The staff were friendly, approachable and the excellent guide provided information that was both informative and balanced. We will come again but we will need to add more time to the visit (at least 90 minutes) as there is so much to see and read.

You definitely can’t visit this museum with the expectation of getting a balanced perspective of Northern Irish history. I went on a self-guided tour and was barely even greeted when I walked into the building. I was there for an hour and was the only museum patron for that entire duration, so I was really able to wander around at my leisure.
Regardless of whether it was deserved, it’s clear that the EU did, in fact, pour a lot of money into the place. The contents of the exhibits aside, they were mostly nicely done.
P.S. What kind of organization has the nerve to criticize the Catholic Pope while having a leadership position called the “Worshipful Master?” SO cringey!

Hi! Thank you very much for your review, we are glad that you found the Museum interesting.
For reference, "Worshipful Master" is a term that means respected or honorable, this wording dates back prior to the Orange Institution forming in 1795.

A very pleasant and relaxing experience with excellent historical information. Perhaps too much - we found it difficult to "take it all in". It inspired us to take an opportunity at some later date, for a quiet unhurried wander around, and take time to read all the displays. Excellent presentations . Thank you.

It was the most slanted way of telling a story I had ever seen. At least, the cafe is ok and they have a tapestry conserved since 17th century.

The museum is a little bit out of town but worth the visit, I got a local bus there the driver was obviously a Orange man as let me journey for free! he also gave me information on a parade that evening, very good cultural encounter.
The Museum offers a fantastic insight into the history of the Orange Heritage loads of great interactive displays you can even learn how to start drumming!
If your in Belfast this should be on your itinerary, it’s a pity the tourist hop on tours don’t stop here!

Hi Ronnie,
It is a pity they don't stop here, but we are very glad you enjoyed yourself while at the museum, we must find that bus driver and give him free entry to the museum :)

Quiet, informative and great cafe and gift shop. We’ve been a few times and we always stay to eat and buy something from the ever changing stock of the gift shop.
