The clock chimes out the hour tunefully and some characters appear from Alice in Wonderland. This would be an unusual draw to a rather quiet street in Belfast if there was more information nearby. Hardly anyone bothers to ride the short escalator to the top...More

The quirky Alice Clock chimes out the hour with a few tunes. The passage of time has left it a bit out of time and out of tune but nevertheless a welcome and amusing sight amongst the hustle and bustle.

I love how quiet it is up here and how the surroundings around you are designed to be characters and creations from Alice in Wonderland. The one place I like up here is the mini art exhibition. It's free and there is lots of sculptures...More

The Alice Clock is a little difficult to find unless you know Belfast. Located on the upper floor of the Fountain Centre, in Fountain Street, at the back of Boots Chemist! The clock is above the escalators with access to the first floor Plaza. To...More

Attractive looking clock that appears to be part of a shopping complex, unfortunately I did not hear it chime, but it looked like it did, worth a look, appears to be a number of cafes around giving the area a kind of non Belfast feel,...More

The Alice clock is a pretty landmark above the Utopia shop in the Fountain Centre. Bells chime on the hour (from 9am to 6pm) and the figures are usually characters from Alice in Wonderland. Every few hours, religious figures come out instead. The bells sound...More

Almost hidden away in a side street behind the main shopping drag this quaint feature sits on a first floor (that’s one up from the ground for our American readers) and comprises 24 bells hanging over the escalators to street level. It also has a...More

I've seen clocks here and there, and some are a marvel to behold. This was underwhelming. The characters who emerge are so under-animated, apparently without any moving parts. They're like painted stumps that spin. Meanwhile the bells chime out some tune, but it takes time...More
