Nice quiet pub in the cathedral quarter. Goid Guinness. Live Music. Some extras from GOT. Some tourists. Lots of locals.

Came across this pub while looking for a taxi and remembered the name from a list of recommended pubs, so we went in. It was late afternoon, so we had no trouble getting a table. But the place started to fill up quickly. We ordered a pint of Guinness & hoogarden and it was the nicest pint we had that... More

They don't serve Magners Lite (or any Magners) which I didn't like. The visit was mostly pleasant until my last mouthful of wine. It was as if I had gulped sand and when I spat it out back into the glass, it had the consistency and taste of dishwasher powder. Absolutely disgusting. We were rushing for a bus or a... More

Had lunch here and it was really good. Plenty of choice and very reasonably priced considering portion sizes. I went for the Seafood Chowder which was beautiful. Really tasty and very filling. Great spot!

Dropped into The John Hewitt in a cold day in November to be welcomed by a warm ( gas ) fire and a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Seemed to be populated by genuine, nice people having a civilised drink and matter.

Used to love this bar especially making sure I attended the open mic night with a few other musical friends who often played. Went in one day when I seen the Guinness+ sign on the door (where Guinness assigns free pints to bars when you show the app). Ordered my Guinness and showed the bar man the app, said they... More

A lot of pubs were shut on Tuesday evening in Belfast but this place was open and we were able to sit and chat with live music as a background. Coolio!

Went here on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Drink spot on, a bit of live session music going on but pub is tiny and you have not much chance of getting a seat. Can't comment on the food as we didn't have any. Will probably give it a go again, but would be nice to have a seat next time.

I order a real ale last night and it tastes like soapy bathwater. I take it back and the wannabe hipster barman tells me it is my fault for ordering it. I then checked policy with apparent duty manager and yes - the customer is always wrong - my fault for not liking it. This is now a pub best... More
