Something different and unique

From the outside it doesn't look like a particularly good museum but it surprised me with all the artefacts inside. There's also tea and coffee to enjoy as well.

Free entry. I called in to the museum that is downstairs in the barge. There was no-one around, just a lady upstairs behind a desk, who was able to direct me. I really liked all the genuine items on display, especially ones you could touch, like ropes. Dials, portholes, a pulley, design blueprints, an old ship’s compass. I’d never known... More

The Barge is a small albeit interesting museum that showcases Belfast's rich nautical past. Like the S.S. Nomadic, the staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about their museum. The Barge is not a "glitzy" venue like the Titanic Experience; rather the interest lies in the detail. For instance, I never realized that Harland and Wolff made office furniture or that... More

We came here for the Valentine's Day event and it was a great place to have a night out. There is a good atmosphere and it's very quirky/unique. Sound quality is good too. The staff are very friendly and passionate about the barge. As well as the function hall there is also a small meuseum on board. Only disappointing thing... More

While the food was tasty and the staff welcoming seriously overpriced in comparison to other places. Portions very small and dessert choice underwhelming. Would not be returning even though trip advisor lists highly, don't bother going there.

We went here for a Christmas night out with friends and I was shocked by the portion sizes and the price. I will not be back! I realise that profit margins need to be met but I felt extremely short changed and left the Barge with a bad taste in my mouth!! The staff were very pleasant however this restaurant... More

The Barge offered a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and the set menu was very appealing. Everyone's course was beautifully presented and flavoursome, with a great use of local produce. Definitely recommend dining here for a special occasion or a treat! Will be back!
