We were at PRONI for a week in October doing family research as my spouse if first generation American, both parents having been from NI. What a great place and what great people. The facility is outstanding, the people there are very helpful, and the small Cafeteria there serves some stand out cookies, scones and soups (among other items including... More

Had a few short hours one evening to do some family history research. The people behind the desk in that section were SO helpful. Would be good if I'd had many days to spend there. This and the Titanic museum were the only things on my "must-do" list while in Belfast. There in summer 2015.

The visit was a little frustrating. They have lots of information but with todays computers I felt like I was searching back in the stone age. Walked away with nothing.

My friend and I visited here so that she could look at the records to find some of her relatives, the staff were very helpful and we were pleased that my friend was able to find some ancestors , we also used the café the prices were reasonable and they had a good selection

Visiting PRONI was an experience of a lifetime. First of all I recommend taking one day to learn the system. Then give yourself plenty of time as it will slip away when you keep digging into your past. Take with you as much information on the person or persons as possible. Try to find out the church attended as most... More

I had always read about people visiting the PRONI, and then I got to visit, too! What a fine facility, with a helpful staff. Compared to many family history sites, this is clean, modern and has its own cafeteria (which closes early, so check the times). If you are an amateur or professional genealogist, you will love it.
