The Grand Opera House in Belfast is Northern Ireland's premier theatre, presenting a range of drama, dance, opera, comedy, musicals, pantomime, family and West End shows. Established in 1895, the theatre boasts the majestic Victorian main auditorium designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham. Extended in 2006, the original building has been joined by a striking addition to Belfast's skyline, The Baby Grand. The initiate studio is home to a smaller performance space with 100 seats. Northern Ireland's premier theatre delivers an outstanding programme of entertainment, playing host to some of the greatest names in theatre and music. The theatre boasts a wide array of popular shows; everything from opera and drama to pantomime, comedy and musicals. The Grand Opera House offers unrivalled corporate hospitality with tailored events packages and is the perfect venue for meetings, special events and conferences of all sizes. The historical theatre is one of the most unique conference venues in Belfast, catering for seminars, conferences, meetings and weddings for up to 130 people in the Baby Grand Studio. The Main Auditorium holds up to 1060 people and smaller meeting rooms are also available. The theatre bars stock a range of drinks including beer, wine and spirits, in addition to tea and coffee.

Went to see the Buddy Holly story.

The atmosphere was electric from entering the building to leaving. Staff were friendly and helpful. The show itself, was out of this world.

The good things about this 🎭 theatre are that it's fairly close to the city centre with some good restaurants, bars & ☕️ coffee places close by. We opted for the pre theatre meal deal in the darn good Red Panda 🐼 Chinese restaurant which was a five minute walk to the theatre. The theatre is fairly well maintained with... More

We have been here twice in 2 weeks - once for the ballet and the second time for the Buddy Holly Story, two very different shows but equally good. The staff are particularly welcoming and the sound system makes everything perfectly audible.

Been in the Opera House many times in 50 years and this was the worst experience yet! Not because of the show - The Buddy Holly Story was excellent - but because of the inconsiderate dumb [and I mean that literally] blonde [out of a bottle] sitting behind us who sang [loudly] off key all night; couldn't clap in time... Recently visited for the ballet performance of Hansel and Gretal - which was fabulous. The GOH itself is beautiful, and full of history. A huge recommendation if you have the time while you visit.

All visitors to This grand old building could not help being enchanted by its fine architecture beautiful high domed painted ceilings and one of the oldest auditoriums in the UK. Wether your local or a visitor to the province book one of the wide variety of shows including many West End and Broadway shows.

The belfast Opera house is one of the most beautiful theatres I have been in to date. Wonderful night with drinks from the bar afterwards. Great experience every time I go.

We had an enjoyable evening at Belfast's Grand Opera House watching the Scottish Ballet. The GOH was warm, we were greeted by staff and shown to our seats. My only reservation about the beautiful theatre is the small seat pitch due in part to the tiered seating. We were at the front of the back stalls and had a perfect... More

I go to GOH regularly and it can compete easily with the theatres in the West End London. This time we were there to see The Committments for the 3rd time. The theatre is not too big and I like to book in advance as the seats usually sell quickly. You can take your drink into the show which is... More
