Interesting place with lots of history, Not to difficult and would suit most abilities. Be careful as the 1st cave has some damage when roof collapsed

I have walked the Cavehill rain, hail or shine but it's sheer beauty and glory has been highlighted in recent weeks with the snow and ice. From all parts of Belfast the snow capped Cavehill has stood out like a beacon. It's so beautiful and...More

We came here in Early November 2017. We came with 10 kids aged between 4-14, all of them made their way to the peak. The path was a bit muddy but that is to be expected for November. I would recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes....More

Took the missus on a walk to lose some of her winter pounds. Told her it was a good hangover cure. Great place to stroll and would recommend if you do the cave hill walk to be prepared. Put the missus in shock. Ended up...More

Great Walk for those who are ‘able’ to walk. We parked in the car park and walked up. Took us roughly 20/30 min to get to the top. Some difficult parts but worth the view. We could see as far as the mourne mountains.

Great walks. Well kept. Very popular with locals and visitors alike. Good car parks so easy access from different entrances. Great view all over Belfast when you get to the top.

It’s easier on the lower path, it is a proper path and there are places to rest and leads up to the castle itself - I would test it first though as you know your mum better than me!
