Went at easter brilliant views across belfast was a great day and hope to be back again the belfast castle is a lovely building i walked around the garden and then done the cavehill trail

This is a great place to be on a sunny day for a good walk, and at the top you're rewarded with panoramic views of Belfast below that go on for miles

well the view from up top are breathtaking a few caves to clamber into too. the walk all the way round is a bit tiring but well worth it.

I really like this walk to the summit, and has a great view on a clear day. Do bring a camera as you will be sorry if you don't. Can be a bit muddy so wear proper footwear. Not for high heels. :-)

It’s easier on the lower path, it is a proper path and there are places to rest and leads up to the castle itself - I would test it first though as you know your mum better than me!

I would leave about 2 hours and my favourite starting point is old Cavehill Road
