We took advantage of the beautiful sunny weather to enjoy a hike up the hill. All efforts are rewarded by the beautiful scenery and views over the city and beyond. Shame to see so much litter, some of which had been there a while.

The inside of the castle is so well maintained with lovely tea rooms and restaurants and you can tour the reception rooms. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with great veiws of the city.

I personally didn't walk up it but my teenage grandson loves to climb it and has done just that each time we visit Belfast.

Cave Hill has to be one of the most beautiful scenic walk in Belfast! on a sunny day it really is beautiful! Just don't go here at night time as it can be risky and you can get lost very easily!

Walked it several times. However, pick your day/weather. Either direction is good. At weekends the car park can be busy.

If you are looking for some inexpensive physical activity and want a birds-eye view of Belfast, this is the thing. It's a solid hike and you are rewarded at the top.

Since this is the first hill that I walk to the top point, it is quite hard and dangerous for me. I walked up with the red route (the steepest). That day it was raining, so rocks are quite slippery. However, when I reached the...More

It’s easier on the lower path, it is a proper path and there are places to rest and leads up to the castle itself - I would test it first though as you know your mum better than me!
