Arranged with Belfast City Council for a largish group to visit this amazing little gem hidden away. This is probably the oldest Christian burial site in Northern Ireland and as a result the headstones are very old and the ground is uneven, but what a...More

Be certain to schedule a visit to this little cemetery. The story it tells of the history of Belfast and indeed Northern Ireland is incredible. A little peaceful oasis, too.

My wife and I did the Halloween Tour of the Friars Bush. Spooky at night, especially when you know that this was where lots of cholera victims were laid to rest. Also the inventor of Belfast Bap Barney Hughes rests here.

I was lucky enough to have Eamon Phoenix conducting a tour we did one Hallowe'en. Dr Phoenix, unlike so many historians, really has the skills and ability to bring history alive and make it interesting. Most noteably, the grave of Barney Hughes, the hugely successful...More
