Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I took the Belfast Free Walking Tour with Dave last Friday and would highly recommend it! Dave was clearly passionate and knowledgeable about both some must-see beautiful places we walked through and the history of the city, relating the stories to each stop of the tour and more modern examples of how the situation has and might further change in the future. The tour went by so fast as all of it was so engaging and fascinating, but my tired legs would call it the perfect length. Easy 5 stars, would recommend to anyone new to Belfast!

Great walking tour- Barbara did a great job! It was very interesting hearing her perspective, as she’s lived in Belfast since 1969. Would take the tour again!

Dave is a fantastic guide, showing historical spots and giving local insights into the history of the city. His 2 hour tour made our visit extremely fun and enjoyable and added value to our trip as we learned the context behind some areas and buildings.

Dave was a great guide, his personal experiences of growing up and living in Belfast made it even more memorable. Excellent recommendations, and really enjoyed our time learning from him.

I had an incredible experience on the walking tour with Dave. He is a very captivating speaker! He gave an excellent introduction to the history of the city during the tour, enhanced by several personal anecdotes of his time growing up there. I could not recommend a tour with him enough! I would suggest doing it towards the beginning of your trip if possible so you can make good use of his recommendations! Thank you Dave for such a wonderful tour!

Brian W was a superb walking guide introducing us to the history of Belfast and Northern Ireland. Over 2 hours he takes you to some notable places in central Belfast’s history including a number of pubs to be revisited later. He talks very knowledgeably about the history and politics of Belfast and includes some amusing anecdotes along the way.. As other reviewers have said, he’s a great storyteller.

As you will see in other reviews Brian English is a very good and knowledgeable city guide (I’m sure others are good), choose him. He normally stands on the street just to the right of the big iron gates of the City Hall. As you approach, he will find you and draw you into the fold. He is professional and funny and a great raconteur - so tip him well! The tour is, of course, a gem.

Hi, would it be possible to arrange for a wheelchair for someone with a mobility issue? Thank you for your understanding.

We happily accept wheelchairs on our tours, All the guides are highly experienced and will consider all guests when doing the tour and may adjust the route where they see fit to do so.
I hope this helps with your planning

Hi there, will the tour cover the Titanic? Thanks!
Tom G
Dundalk, Ireland61 contributions
No, because the Titanic area is too far from the city centre. You have to go on a bus tour to include this area. The bus tours are well worth a go, because you see and learn a lot more about Belfast in general.

I am sorry, indeed the free walking tour ends at The Salmon of Knowledge. The political tour ends in Shankill Road.
I will be taking a baby in a buggy will this be ok ie is there steps or stairs?, thanks

This is not a problem, and children are very welcome on the tour if the infant becomes a little unsettled it would be appreciated by the group to step away for a few moments.
