Family lunch which lived up to expectations. Huge bar/restaurant with a period feel and very pleasant staff. The mixed grill.was outstanding and the chicken and ribs combo was much enjoyed. Sadly no.starters seemed to be on the menu, but I've cream.and chocolate sauce, plus caramel...More
I had sausage @ mash which was ok but my wife had simply chicken. When it arrived it was so small but we could accept that as it was in 2 for £9.50. Barman was very dismissive & walked away. But it was dry &...More
If you have trouble with stairs do what we forgot to do, request a first floor room. Set over numerous levels above stairs was a rabbit Warren. Despite the rear outside view from the car park, locked at night, the hotel looked tired and a...More
We use this as our regular venue most weekends when going to the cricket or the football in Cardiff. We are always welcomed, excellent service and great breakfasts and Kate the landlady always goes out of her way to make sure we are well looked...More
Typical English pub next to the hotel, non residents are welcome. Nice terrace and cosy inside, the whole place can act in a UK-serie. One big negative point ....... no local beer available. Shame on you for a local pub.

Popped in here to have drinks with friends. Staff didn’t want to acknowledge us and seemed to prioritise glass polishing and straightening the peanuts over serving customers. Perhaps because we’re not ‘local’?
Beer was fine but the unfriendly vibe was enough to put us off...More
This place was not for me. Inefficient booking system meant we had only one room instead of the two which had been booked, so I had to drive home again with the children, leaving my husband there on his own. Harassed staff and understaffed bar...More
Popped in here for a couple of beers on the way up Cathedral road. Good selection of beers in comfortable surrounds. Bar does get very busy when events (especially rugby) are on and at weekends. Otherwise it is a friendly environment for a couple of...More
