Monument showing 3 service holding up wreaths.

This is a lovely walk, showing a monument dedicated to Army, Navy and Air Force, holding up wreaths. The park is well kept, and still close to the town centre.

I often went here in the past Summer, the cherry blossoms were a beautiful sight to behold. The excellent work of the groundkeepers is also to be commended as the tulips were absolutely devastated by the rain but were promptly removed and more flowers planted.

Considering how central it is, and how often I venture into the city, I have very rarely visited this lovely little park and war memorial. I usually visit once a year, as I did yesterday for the Remembrance Service which is always very moving. Previously I had been to the park on a number New Year's celebrations when it was... More

If I ever get back to Cardiff, Cathays Park will be one of the items at the top of my agenda. We were around and about it on several occasions during our recent visit to that city, just enough to whet our desire to see more of what this park, in the shadow of the National Museum Cardiff, has to... Have stood here many times on cold November mornings to comrade the fallen. A great venue in the heart of the city to sit and reflect

This is a lovely quiet place. I was happy to see a memorial there to the Welsh men who went and fought in the Spanish Civil War. You can hear the chimes from the City Hall clock.

This city park is literally surrounded by the city's most impressive buildings. The park is well maintained but can get quite busy as it is not huge. The floral displays are lovely but the highlight for me has to be the impressive Welsh National War Memorial.

A small 'formal' park next to the Museum, government offices and university, it can sometimes get crowded, but is always immaculately maintained. Not a lot going on in the park itself, but Bute park is nearby as is the city centre itself, and it is well used, especially in term time.

Just across from this serene & chilled area, you'd never guess there was a bustling, busy city centre. It's just a beautiful area to grab a sandwich & coffee from the town & bask in the sunshine with friends after a busy day of work or shopping!
