Very interesting new exhibition with lots of interactive activities for children (and grown up children!). We loved the model house showing life through the ages with very clever animations and the film and audio clips from ordinary Cardiff citizens

The museum is small but really nice and offers an introduction into the history of Cardiff for all ages. Most things are interactive (and they are adding more interactive elements) and on entering a very helpful member of sraff offered us audio guides, but we...More

From a small market town we can learn how Cardiff became one of the busiest ports in the world in 1900 through coal exports. A free museum that is worth popping in and having a look.

Almost never bothered as it looked like it was just for kids on the entrance down. However, it is well worth a quick look around and has some interesting exhibits and interactive exhibits. The videos are short. I would also take time to glance at...More

Possibly one of the best free museums we have ever visited - and we've seen them all round the world! Visit the tiled old entrance - exquisite. The inside is brilliant - well thought out and celebrates the history of struggle and ordinary people in...More

Nice looking venue with some very good information but also some that seems just hashed together and unclear. Great interactive models for kids to mess around with.

The Cardiff story museum focuses on telling the story of Cardiff. This free museum looks at the history in an interactive way geared towards kids. I only had 45 minutes, so I skipped the audio tour, and pretty much saw the museum in that time....More

Greatly enjoyed our visit to this museum; interesting selection of exhibits covering Cardiff's history, and a nice restaurant for a mid-visit meal or coffee.

Brilliant for the kids! They got given a bag on arrival with a detective hat, magnifying glass, colouring pencils and a book with a trail to follow with questions along the way. It was very interactive and interesting but unfortunately a few of the exhibits...More

This museum is smallish and very children and family friendly as there are so many activities to engage children. It is equally informative for adults and gives a great deal of information about the history of Wales to present day. It is well designed and...More
