We had an absolutely lovely time here. The children were enthralled. Absolutely stunning birds with fabulous personalities. Roger was very engaging and clearly loves and looks after all the birds in his care. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Black Mountains Falconcry. A fantastic day out coupled with a warm and knowledgeable host. Hope to see you again soon!... More

This week I spent a morning with Roger James at Black Mountains Falconry and it turned out to be 3 hours that I'll never forget. Roger is a fantastic teacher and with the help of his Barn Owl, Red Kite, Harris Hawk and beautiful Falcon he very ably introduced me (a total novice) to the world of birds of prey.... More

Rodger is a lovely man who has a passion for his career as a falconer. It's almost hard for me to write that it's his career because Rodger handlers and cares for his birds as a lifestyle. He is very knowledgable of his animals. Rodger welcomed my fiancé and I upon arrival. He served us tea before we handled the... More

An incredible experience, a must do for anyone’s bucket list! Meet and handle the birds and find out how our language is influenced by falconry - ruffled feathers, hoodwinked, fed-up, under the thumb and many more (I was listening!). Many thanks Roger for a wonderful day.

A group of us had a fantastic afternoon of falconry and archery at this attraction expertly led by Roger. The Falcons were absolutely amazing and fascinating for all. Would recomend this as a top attraction to all whether interested in falconry or not. Many thanks for a thoroughly entertaining afternoon which I hope to repeat in the near future.

Roger was a fascinating host - friendly, informative and great fun and the birds themselves were outstanding. We flew some of the birds and learned about their training and skills before having a go at archery. Would recommend in a heart beat and... More

He also had so many great stories to tell as well. To top it off, I was traveling by train, and he kindly gave me a ride to... More

I went here recently for a half day experience and wasn't disappointed. I am a big bird lover so my expectations were high. Roger was a great host and trainer and had all sorts of stories and fantastic knowledge to pass on. There was a small selection of birds that you actually get to interact with and the experience really... More
