Came here with my wife after our morning walk around the perimeters of the golf course . To our delight the club house was open and we were welcomed by John and Linda who have just recently took over the catering side of the club .

We ordered breakfast which was lovely and hearty and very reasonably priced and enjoyed the beautiful scenery . We also returned on the Sunday for a Sunday roast which was plentiful and delicious and they catered very well for my vegetarian wife again all very reasonably priced. John and Linda are a lovely welcoming couple who I'm sure will do well here. We Will definitely return on our next visit to betws .

Gone downhill over the last year
Jul 2018 • Couples
We used to love coming here for breakfast but its just slipped and slipped downwards in quality on every visit since the new stewardess took over.

Our last visit was the final straw.

Cold coffee.....How can you get cold coffea from a machine? An empty restaurant with dirty tables and old tea staines on the tea pot. What is going on in the kitchen?

Cold bacon, raw mushrooms and fried bread that was cooked in low temperature fat so it slurped up all the grease. Sausages, oh my God the sausages. Last year they used to be lovely full of flavour bangers but cost cutting has been the deciding factor in the sausage of choice. Not only were they tasteless which some cafe's choose to serve but they were in fact disgusting and completely unidentifiable as a farmyard animal.

As we were leaving we noticed that it was presidents day and yet the president had decided not to trust his catering to his stewardess and set up his own refreshments by the last hole.

Shame.

First time visit to this 9 hole golf course, don't know why I haven't played it before. The location is breathtaking, flanked by two rivers and lovely green trees. The course was in perfect condition and for £15for 18 holes it was well worth it. The clubhouse cafe was not open when we played but does have a 5 star food hygiene rating, so next time we will play when it's open.

The food was fresh and plentiful and reasonable price but I just found the food (Sunday Carvery) lacked taste so was somewhat disappointed.

We went to the golf club this morning for breakfast. The breakfast menu is great with a good choice and well priced. They had a high chair for my granddaughter and the food was ready quickly. The breakfast was really nice. Looking forward to trying the Sunday carvery next.

Staff very friendly and helpful the carvery was good value so was the wine. Worth a visit if in the area.
Note: as it is only small and popular with locals advance bookings advised.
