Visited Llangollen quite a few times to walk the canal with our dog and toddler, and also done a self drive canal boat day with the family. Always a pleasantly busy route, beautiful scenery and a good excuse to enjoy a nice lunch afterwards :)

A different kind of walk along an aquaduct, with the barges going along side you, great views from there. You can also get views of the viaduct in the distance. So it was nice to have took in both of them.

Really interesting to walk along - the viaduct/aquaduct together are a feat of deaign as is the lengthy canal tunnel which was certainly an experience to walk through- a torch would have been useful! Highly recommend walking through.

Our guide added this as an unscheduled stop on our tour. It's amazing, and would be of interest to anyone with a background in engineering or an interest in boating. For those who don't do heights, there is a trail that leads down to the...More
