Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

I spent a delightful few hours exploring this castle. There are lovely views from the tops of the towers.

A good castle to visit still plenty to see. Smaller then others in Wales but still a reasonable size. Great views from the top of the turrets so is worth the climb, its all safe. Allow around an hour should be sufficient.

The good - what an amazing structure! Build in the late 1200s and with so much of it still standing it was fascinating and well worth a visit. We spent a good amount of time there and then strolled around the quaint town. Highly recommended!...More

Very well restored and preserved castle. Massive towers, royal apartments, etc. Better go on a nice and sunny day, beautiful views, can make great photos.

Amazing even with a large school trip. Great for taking pictures but watch the spiral stairs as easy to get up but hard walking down as no hand rail

I loved the access - not in the wheel chair term - that's not good, but it's not over protected, you can clime up steep tower stairs and walk over slippery cobbles, look down deep wells with only a rope barrier- I love that. Great...More

The museum, shop & the grounds are fun you can also go round the ground floor but the ramparts most defiantly not as it would be impossible to do this
