Saw this place while wondering round Aber for the day. It was the highlight of my day and absolutely free!! The staff were friendly. The museum has been converted from a theatre and it's very well done, definitely keeping it's charm. There's lots to see and lots on display. The museum has kind of sectioned off little bits to showcase... More

An absolute gem of a place in which you could spend hours browsing and still not see everything. We entered through the Tourist Information Office where we were given a great welcome and fantastic customer service. Currently in the process of adding a catering facility which means we will definitely visit again and the time taken by the staff to... More

First visit to the museum in several visits to Aberystwyth and it was well worth dropping in for an hour or two. Plenty of local history to see, some nice pieces of artwork and a lovely building too..

I visited the museum while staying for a short break and found it absolutely enchanting. The displays are interesting but it is the building itself which is the museum piece, showing a music hall theatre as it would have been in its glory days. As a wheelchair user, there is a lift to all floors, which is very cleverly hidden... More

It is not possible to visit this museum at the moment. It is closed for redevelopment. Pity this information was not available on the online site.

There is a lot to see and this unusual museum is well worth a visit. The experience is enhanced by it being located in an old cinema. It is arranged very well and usually not so busy that you can't spend time looking at things in detail. There is an interesting shop. Only negative was being told by a bossy... More

I expected this to be a mildly interesting diversion on a rainy day. In fact we found it to be a treasure trove that stretched over many floors and time periods, with different areas for different parts of life e.g. entertainment over the years, domestic life, fashion, travel. An impromptu talk was laid on when we were there about the... More

We spent an absorbing hour or two exploring this museum that is so full of character. Good use has been made of the original cinema building with an Aladdin's cave of exhibits from days gone past. There is something here to be of interest to young and old alike. The Museum is being improved over the winter when it will... More
