We've been meaning to visit the Almonry for a while. We visited to book and collect pantomime tickets. The children were intrigued and wanted to have a look around. It's an amazing place a real Aladdin's cave. It really brings the past to life. A great place visit and we will certainly be heading back.

Town signage to locate this place was not good but once we found it the lady on duty was most helpful and provided us with the information we required.

My daughter loves it here and we always visit in the school holidays. She loves doing the trails and never gets bored looking around, you spot something different every time. One of her favourite places is the garden and the activities upstairs. I love the recordings of the 'Asum' dialect and can understand most of them. Well worth visiting.

We have visited this site before last year but this time brought out 2 grandchildren. What a wonderful historical experience for them what a great collection of items.

This is a beautiful old building that also contains the tourist information centre. The museum itself has a large selection of different exhibits. Some are well organised whereas other bits more closely resemble a junk shop! Entry is only £5 which is valid for a year so it is good value and a great way to while away an hour... More

I visited the Almonry Heritage Centre the other week and spoke to Ashleigh. Ashleigh was extremely helpful and had a huge amount of local knowledge. Really gave me a good incite. I highly recommend visiting this fantastic place.

Well worth a couple of hours of anyone's time. This superb building is full of all sorts of archeology, architecture, artefacts and memorabilia covering dinosaurs to to the late 20th century, all displayed well in the various rooms, the info on the abbey and the jail were most enlightening. Good labelling helped with the old tools etc, There is a... More
