Lovely Windsor has all the usual high street stores but they are laid out do differently to the usual high streets. There are numerous independent stores as well to keep you interested. Loads of lovely independent eateries, cafes, restaurants, bistros and hotels. Lots of locally produced produce too. There are indoor and coveted markets selling a wonderful array of unusual... More

I decided to pay a visit here as I am a fan of local museums and have been to many. Firstly this place charges for entry which is unusual (often there is a donation box but not an enforced charge). Secondly it is very small with a limited number of the usual subjects displayed in this type of museum. A... More

I took some friends to this museum as it was raining at the time. It is very interesting. There is an entrance fee, but we waited around for a guide and we had a guided tour of the Guildhall - fascinating!

Situated in the old Guildhall, next to Winsor Caste. We were surprised that the entrance fee is only £2 each. It was the history of Windsor told by about 15 sections of images and voice recordings which is best listened too with the free headsets. Some of which did go on a bit too long. One interesting story was the... More

This really is a delightful town ,museum. The museum itself is quite small but it packs quite a lot of Windsor history in its four walls. There is a very good audio guide and I suggest that you take this - it doesn't cost you anything. Using this you find out a lot more about the ordinary people of Windsor,... More

Free on the day I went, very nice staff offered audio info. The relics and history is very helpful to know, giving a sense of how the town of Windsor was created; fascinating.

Although small, this museum is lovely and well laid out. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and always make us feel welcomed. We go regularly because during school holidays they always have fantastic family events on. (usually every Tuesday and Thursday.) Today they were teaching about morse code and our son learnt how to send messages using sound and light.... More
