This bridge has a great story. Isumbard Kingdom Brunel needed to span the Thames but keep the bridge low. It therefore has the ick brick in the world.

Decided to visit this bridge after seeing it reviewed on Tripadviser. Beautiful area and a very interesting bridge. AF couldn't resist shouting and clapping, like a child!

I walk under this frequently and am always amazed by it - Brunel's largest flattest arch and it has an amazing echo - hence the name!!

The sounding arch was one of the flattest and widest arches of it's day. If you are on the river the sound when trains pass overhead is quite inspiring.

Simply taking a walk along the river and admiring the local nature is exciting enough!!! However, standing under the brick arches and waiting for the next train to pass is utterly priceless!!! Not to be missed if around Maidenhead!!!

It's about 2.5 miles. If you walk from the bridge to Cookham and that's a really great walk, then perhaps 3 miles
