What a gorgeous nature reserve on the edge of the city. With beautifully laid out paths and hides close to the water, we enjoyed simply strolling round. We saw a number of different birds on the way and enjoyed a coffee and biscuit from the...More

It's surprising how many people do not know about this place. Having said that, I don't want them to know as it would become overcrowded! They have specially built hides for you to sit and watch the wildlife in front of you. The hides all...More

Really good nature reserve, with varying landscape; wetlands, meadows, fields & pond areas. Good for all the family or just dedicated bird watchers. We go to buy our bird food at the shop/tea room. Very good value for money.

5.5 miles by road. The journey should take around 15 minutes by car, or half an hour by bus (change at Horsforth).
