Fab friendly pub - bar staff were very accommodating and the pub itself is a little gem. Fab indoor and outdoor spaces. Will defo be visiting again.

No pretending to be anything it isn't. This is a salt of the earth live music pub with great beer, great pies, welcoming regulars and lovely bar staff. Popped in for one last week after missing my bus and ended up staying for 4 after getting chatting to the bar staff and regulars who were propping up the bar.

A great place to chill out after the maelstrom of Leeds city centre. Reliably excellent beer, friendly staff and nice bar food. Been coming for years and always appreciate the live music (its a rock pub) plus the real ales are a sight for sore eyes when too many pubs are now a) corporate and soulless and b) serve kegged... The pub smells of disinfectant, and is a bit grubby. We paid £4.85 for a pint of Heineken and £ 4.20 for a pint of bitter, which in Leeds is more than you'd expect to pay for a "nice" pub. I've no idea where the 4/5 star reviews come from. The pub isn't even in the center of Leeds

Didn't enjoy my visit here, which is a shame because of it's great reputation. Felt very very unwelcome, which doesn't normally bother me, but I just didn't like this place. Staff were rude, it was freezing in there and the atmosphere was sour.

Searched this pub out deliberatly from the new Good Beer Guide, really glad I did. Excellently kept beer as expected.Just pie and peas to eat but enjoyed this as well. Very quiet at 1410 on a Wednesday. Beer garden through the back a quiet haven in the middle of Leeds-away from the busy centre. Barman/landlord very friendly and knew about... More

A plethora of choice of beer awaits you as you enter - the musicians are about my age and playing hard core blues - the service is quick and friendly - bit like being back at the Marquee in the 60s but with alcohol - no cocktails or shots - an uplifting experience on a wet Friday night in Leeds
