We just visited the house and farm. The house is very interesting, reasonably priced and an audio guide, should you like that sort of thing, is provided. The farm was great, not to be missed.

Temple Newsam is a beautiful estate with walks and a small farm. However, it was the house we focussed on during this visit. We used the audio guide - which was very helpful, well planned and narrated. The history is interesting, and the house is in great condition. Loads to see in terms of interesting furniture and pictures. The house... More

This was not the first time that my wife and I had visited the 1500 acre Temple Newsam estate but it was the first time we had toured the magnificent mansion, some of which dates back to 1500, when Thomas Lord Darcy built it (before he lost his head!). The estate is now owned by Leeds City Council and the... More

We got free audio guides which improved the visit no end. Lots of interesting rooms, many restored by the in house restoration team. Staff members... More

Done the 4 mile circular route around the park. Lovely photos and places around the park. House looks great from the outside but didn't go in this time.

Temple Newsam is only an hour’s drive from where we live but until yesterday we had never visited it. Following our visit we are wondering why it has taken us so long to discover it. The approach to the hall was magnificent as a thick carpet of crocuses – more than we have ever seen in one place before –... More
