Myself and my daughter recently visited the market. We used to visit this market years ago and it was always a lovely place to shop. However on this visit we found a big change to the market. A lot of empty stalls. Very shabby, drab...More

I enjoyed easing my craving for exotic food here. Mr.Mackrel and the Vietnamese food are my favorite. Good quality food at an affordable price. Other than using this place as a food court, I wouldn't recommend buying stuff from this market. Today I got 5...More

It's really unusual to see such an old market, still going strong and almost entirely devoid of the "tat" that seems to end up being the core of so many markets. Lovely old buildings and nicely presented stalls, as well as outside stalls.

Considering the amount of investment put into the market it really is not the attraction it should be. Other than the fresh fish most of the stalls are selling average quality goods.Great food hall for cheap snacks/lunch

On a Wednesday there is the Asian market. The outdoor area has some absolutely brilliant fabric, haberdashery and fabric stalls. As an avid sewer it is a must go location to pick up some interesting bits and pieces. I always come away with something even.
