Celebrated as the UK's favourite 20th century building, Coventry Cathedral is known all over the world as a beautiful and unique venue. Designed by architect Sir Basil Spence following the bombing of the city in 1940 it was opened in 1962, and contains some of the finest examples of 1950's and 60's art and architecture in the country.

I visited yesterday with my husband and my disabled niece. My niece was interested in the cathedral ruins but it was difficult for her to see more than the outside because of the steps as she is wheel chair bound. However, we went into the...More

This place is a unique historical space. The building is uniquely reconstructed after the bombings of World War. You must see this place when you're in Coventry.

Definitely worth going to see. It is right downtown so you can walk to a few other places; the mall, the university and other landmarks :)

Although it was a grey day the old ruined cathedral was really majestic and humbling, it's ruined walls and windows still standing, reaching up into the sky. Knowing what had happened here that awful night during the war made it even more poignant and uplifting....More

The cathedrals are a must do for any visitor to Coventry. The contrast of the old and the new is incredible. The old with it's history and the new, whether you like the modern architecture or not, it is spectacular.
