Probably the best known attraction in Coventry. The Cathedral, opened in 1962, has lost none of its' power to amaze and move. The best approach is to start in the ruins of the old cathedral, then take the almost hidden steps down and to the left to reach the new cathedral up the main steps, with Epstein's St Michael and... This cathedral is what remains after it was bombed during WW2. Within you can find the story of this place, but surprisingly this tale is not only about terrible losses, but also about hope, teamwork and forgiveness, and about how the bonds of kinship between human beings run deeper than hatred.

As coventry is quite a smal city you would most probably visit coventry cathedral as the main attraction of the city. There's old and new cathedral, theyre all closed by 5PM. I would recommend spending more time in the old cathedral, its very unique as its roof-less due to nuclear attack years ago. The cathedral is located 10 min away... More

The old Cathedral ruins are free to look at and worth it. If you have the means and the time, take a trip in to the new Cathedral. Join a guided tour, free of charge after the entrance fee. Our guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Answering questions and encouraging us to engage with our surroundings, sitting in the chairs... More

We visited the Cathedral for a look around and to have a time of reflection whilst on a visit to the United Kingdom from Spain, we really enjoyed the visit, although was a little shocked at the amount of noise made in the new catherdral by people laughing and talking loudly, not something that we would do oe expect in... What a Diamond in the rough, and without being too disrespectful about Coventry the surrounding area is not the most pleasant on the eye. However, the Cathedral is one to visit ....if you like that sort of thing. Truly marvellous building and so interesting, can't say there's much more to do once you've seen that but the Cathedral is worth... More

Wonderful cathedral, very spiritual, stunning stained glass window, very interesting and peaceful. Remains of old cathedral interesting and very humbling to read history and the effect it had on the city. I would go again and recommend a visit.

The shell of the old Coventry Cathedral rises up in the center of town, surrounded on one side by the university campus and on the other by the old town center. When you realize that which remains is but a skeleton of the original, the emotions hit you in waves. From a distance, you can picture the bombers diving in... More

This place is calm, serene and peaceful. The ruins are preserved and well maintained. Details about the bombing are all displayed and explained well. It's a must to see the cathedral of you are a tourist in Coventry
