Fifteen acres of glorious landscaped gardens with over 7000 plants, shrubs...

Fifteen acres of glorious landscaped gardens with over 7000 plants, shrubs and trees - and a new Butterfly House. Close to Birmingham city centre, this hidden tranquil setting also has four glasshouses taking the visitor from the hot steamy heat of the Tropical rainforest with its rich vegetation, through to the Sub-Tropical House with its stunning palms and tree ferns. The visitor moves through to the Mediterranean House, with its citrus plants and bright conservatory-type blooms - and finally to the stark contrast of the Arid House with desert climate and stunning cacti.

There are an amazing amount of different plants in different habitats here. All housed in stunning greenhouses. The setting is just beautiful. Well worth a visit.

I was so impressed with the selection of plants in different environments and learnt so much. The grounds are well maintained and a real oasis.

It was our first visit to the Botanical Gardens and we didn't get off to a good start as parking was extremely difficult. The car park is small and there was a conference on. However, once we got in the gardens are lovely, even in early March. There are lots of benches to sit and take in the views and... More

Absolutely amazing facility! There is a large auditorium seating about 300 plus an eating area. The staff were helpful and would recommend for an event such as above without reservation. Also amazing gardens and glass houses. Well worth a visit.

Visited for the lantern festival which was stunning but still can't fail to marvel at the gardens themselves. The layout & variety never fail to show you something new. This is a true oasis in a busy city & whether visiting on a special occasion or just to enjoy the gardens you will not be disappointed.

This was recommended by our Hotel receptionist and although we left it rather late, we arrived about an hour before closing, we did glimpse enough to realise what a wonderful place it was. Apart from the plants and birds etc there is a nice tea room and there looked like a large outside area to explore.

Gave this place a second chance as we forgot we visited a few years ago.... Gosh....surely they are joking....PAY to go in.....our hotel gardens were more interesting AND better laid out.!! Expensive shop, poor café, small car park and not family friendly....is it a joke..?

I attended a business conference here where we also had a meal. There were around 60 delegates from around the country and it was a very good location for everyone to find and park. Interesting venue and very good facilities. Conference went well , staff and food were good. Good place near the city for large group to meet.

A small party of us visited the Birmingham Botanical Gardens today and was astounded by the beautiful garden, grounds and tropical houses. Bearing in mind it is mid February and the wide variety of trees are still bare and the widespread bulbs and spring flowers are still to bloom we had a lovely visit. The grounds are beautifully kept and... More

Great for kids and adults alike. Plants in full bloom in the glass house. Extraordinary beautiful morning at the Botanics. Climbing trees (not encouraged) New playground looking a little sad but everything else was perfect. A quick snack in the tearoom (a bit pricey ) but heyho it's a special occasion.

My partner and I have been visiting Botanical Gardens for many years and are

members. Recently my partner who is in receipt of treatment for vision

problems at the City Hospital, simply popped in to the Botanical gardens for

a brief visit (he has, in fact, recently retired (for health reasons).

Unfortunately he forgot on this ONE occasion to register in your machine his

car's registration number and as a result has now received today a fine from

the company you have contracted the car parking out to, of £60 - which will

increase I understand if he does not pay the fine promptly.

I feel quite angry about this on my partners behalf.

Given that we are long standing supporters of your gardens and that this was

the sole occasion he simply forgot, and that indeed HE IS ALREADY A MEMBER

(and no doubt partly because of his preoccupation with his health problems-)

we request that your senior manager seeks on his behalf to liaise with your

car parking organisation and 'waives' this 'fine' immediately. We have never

approved of this new arrangement for members though we have complied. It

seems to be a means to abnegate your responsibility for the parking issues

and only complicates the resolution of this kind of error on the part of

your/visitors/members AND creates ill feeling all round.

We will probably visit you tomorrow morning and would ask that you seek to

represent my partner and get the fine waived without fuss and promptly so as

not to cause any more stress to my partner than has already been occasioned.

Presently we feel very let down, and this is very unjust. We are also

concerned that this might be happening to others who similarly occasionally

are forgetful and have then the hassle of seeking redress from your

contracted-out car parking 'corporation.'

Thank you. He is a paid up member of Botanical

Gardens. You can check this). I am determined that my partner will not be

required to pay what is essentially your instituted fine.
