Enchanting, I loved it, if I was local I would be there all the time.

Thank goodness this was saved from the bulldozers and lovingly restored by local volunteers - and... read more

Hill Close Gardens are a rare example of victorian detached leisure/pleasure gardens. Once used by townsfolk who lived above their businesses and wanted to escape from the crowded town centre. Owners and tenants came here after work or on Sundays to tend their flowers, fruit and vegetables or to relax. These gardens have been fully restored to their original charm and boasts a visitor centre that can be hired out and is used as a cafe on weekends and bank holidays through the summer months. The gardens are open all year during weekdays. Plant / produce / gift sales. Special events are put on throughout the year.

Thank goodness this was saved from the bulldozers and lovingly restored by local volunteers - and what a job they have done! The remaining Victorian gardens have been nursed back to their former splendour and listed summerhouses restored to former glory. We visited in July...More

Tucked away between the centre of town and the racecourse, this gem is both a quiet garden retreat and one of the last surviving examples of the Victorian Garden. You don't have to be any good with gardening to appreciate the work and talent that...More

Hill Close Gardens were originally so-called "detached gardens" where the garden was some distance from the residence of its Victorian owner. I visited here after Mill Garden and Leicester House, including its exquisite gardens, so you might reasonably expect I'd had my fill of gardens,...More

I wasn't sure what to expect but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Warwick is this quaint little place. It's very interesting from a historical point of view and the gardens are not perfect but then that's ok because it gives a natural...More

Absolutely wonderful visit despite dreadful rain. The introductory talk was great and all the guides were well informed and very interesting. We then spent time walking around the wonderful gardens. These were truly inspirational and gave much insight into their history. Later we were served...More

Once the gardens of the Victorian middle class shopkeepers and the like, this large plot of individual gardens has been resurrected by many volunteers and now displays a variety of old fashioned gardening techniques and brick built 'man caves'. The apple festival is a must...More
