About
The Attic Theatre is the No.1 fringe theatre in Stratford upon Avon and home to award-winning 'Tread the Boards' Theatre Company. In 2016 we begin the year with Romeo & Juliet, the only Shakespearean play being performed in Stratford during the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. First established in 2009 by Tread the Boards, an award winning theatre Company. This unique, riverside theatre is located in the heart of Shakespeares' birth town. This unique space is housed in a Grade 2 listed 15th century building and seats just 89 people. This makes for a very personal and intimate theatrical experience.

Great performance of Pygmalion in a lovely theatre. You can even take in a drink from the pub next door!

We love this small and intimate theatre which is well worth a visit. They put on a variety of productions for adults and families. We have been three times now and have another treat coming-up in July.

Took my grandchildren aged 9 and 8 to see Peter Pan yesterday - and what a great theatre performance it was. Captivating and magical - we were all engaged from the get go to the very end. All the cast were amazing talents. Lovely little theatre and the manager made you very welcome. It’s one on the theatre for us now.

We took our seven year old son to watch Peter Pan and it was glorious. We sat back relaxed and was thoroughly entertained. It was funny, clever and homely. It's an.up close and personal experience, which left me feeling like I had witnessed something special. My sons face was a picture. Well done guys thank you so much.

Peter Pan by Tread the Boards theatre company: utterly brilliant, so many laughs for adults too, but children will adore this show. Excellent performances all round. Go and see it before 5 June!!

Bouncers at the attic was a real tonic - not laughed so much for ages.
Make an effort with what you wear or it will be mentioned (or maybe it'll be mentioned anyway lol)

Boys and girls on a Friday night lash in a small Yorkshire town...but it could be Watford, or any seaside town....all seen thru the eyes of those who seldom speak. Great fun, very non PC...and finished well before the pubs shut! Go see!

Small ensemble of 4 players gave a wonderful show in this small and personal theatre. They played everything including the bouncers and groups of party goers (guys and girls) who get more and more drunk as the night goes on. It is a really insightful parody of the nonsense most of us have experienced on a less than sober night out full of anticipation and the inevitable disappointment. Highly recommended.

Is Sweeney Todd suitable for a 9 & 11 year old?

We would say not suitable for most primary age children but if your children are not easy to shock/scare they may be fine. Reviewers have said how dark it is and there is fair bit of fake blood around. Difficult to advise but you know your own children.
